Endpoint Configuration	Which data does the endpoint expose, and who may read it?

The search engine client and index-level settings are one-time infrastructure setup, done as part of installation. See Installation & Bundle Configuration.

Data is not read from the database at request time. It is indexed into the search engine first, and the endpoint reads from the index. See Indexing Details.
