Visitor Profiling

Visitor profiling is the process of getting to know visitors and assigning one or more target groups based on their behavior.

The result of the ongoing profiling process is a set of target groups assigned to the current visitor, each with its own assignment relevance.

Pimcore provides two ways to profile visitors based on their behavior.

Associate Target Groups Directly With Pimcore Documents

Associate a Pimcore document directly with one or more target groups in the Target Groups panel of the document editor in Pimcore Studio, once target groups are defined in the system.

Once one or more target groups are associated with a document, Pimcore assigns the selected target groups to the visitor and increases their assignment count by one every time the visitor opens that document.

Use Global Targeting Rules to Assign Target Groups

Global Targeting Rules define a rule set that profiles visitors. Combine multiple conditions into complex criteria for assigning target groups to the current visitor based on their behavior.

When a rule assigns a target group, you can also specify an assignment weight, which increases the target group's assignment count by that amount instead of by one.
